Breakfast church launched

New breakfast church launched in Bawdrip

In May, as part of a review of services, Bawdrip Church held the first of a number of ‘breakfast church’ services in their Parish Hall. Breakfast church services were held many years ago in Bawdrip and this initiative sees a return. The emphasis is on a relaxed, inclusive and contemporary style of service at a time that enables people to be free to spend the rest of the day with friends and families. Breakfast church will take place on the second Sunday of every month and will provide an alternative to our more usual church based services.

As the name indicates the service starts at 9.30am with tea or coffee, croissants, muffins, fresh fruit, porridge, cereals etc. At 9.45 half an hour of worship and reflection begins although people are free to top up their drinks and grab some more toast.

The services are led by members of Bawdrip Church assisted by our Rector, Kirsty Wells. We are exploring the fruits of the Spirit and seeing how God can change us as people.

Nineteen people attended the first service. We will experiment with different styles of worship but the emphasis will always be on providing a relaxed and welcoming time to help people meet with God. All are welcome to come along. The services are held in the Parish Hall in Eastside Lane although as a ‘one off’ the July service will be on the village green.
